Free Cable in a Diamond Knitting Pattern Panel

 

Just having some fun with cables! A pretty knitted panel thatĀ couldĀ be incorporated into anything. Enjoy!

Abbreviations:

k = knit
p = purl
c2f = (cable 2 front)- slip 1 stitches to a cable needle and hold at the front of the work, knit 1, then knit the 1 stitches from the cable needle.
c2b = (cable 2 back)- slip 1 stitches to a cable needle and hold at the back of the work, knit 1, then knit the 1 stitches from the cable needle.
c6b = (cable 6 back)- slip 3 stitches to a cable needle and hold at the back of the work, knit 3, then knit the 3 stitches from the cable needle.

 

Cast on 24 stitches for panel. ( I added a garter border, this is not included in the pattern.)

Row 1: p2, k6, p1, k6, p1, k6, p2

Row 2 and all even rows: Knit stitches as presented

Row 3: p2, k4, c2b, p1, k6, p1, c2f, k4, p2

Row 5: p2, k3, c2b, k1, p1, c6b, p1, k1, c2f, k3, p2

Row 7: p2, k2, c2b, c2b, p1, k6, p1, c2f, c2f, k2, p2
