These cheerful socks make me think of walking to the farmer’s market for fresh fruit on early Saturday mornings. Although colorwork isn’t typically a warm weather skill, you can knit these socks before the seasons change and remember the dog days of summer year-round.

This design knits a cheerful pair of mid‑calf socks, worked cuff‑down with a wrapped short‑row heel and a rounded toe. The pattern features a playful colorwork motif — typically in three colors — but each row uses only two colors at a time, making the stranded work manageable and neat.

After a ribbed cuff that transitions to the main body, the leg section carries the full colorwork chart down until the heel. Once the heel and foot are worked, the toe shaping tidily finishes the sock. The result: socks that are both comfy and visually striking, perfect for adding a splash of handcrafted charm to everyday wear.
