Starfish Cloth

This is going to become one of my FAVOURITE CLOTHS of all time, it looks so CUTE and is so EASY to make…

by Sew-Funky.

This pattern knits a starfish‑shaped cloth that works up into a decorative, slightly textured piece — ideal as a dishcloth, washcloth, or fun little décor item. The cloth is built from a series of identical wedges (typically six), each worked flat with increases and yarn‑overs to create a wedge shape, then joined around the edges so the wedges form the star‑like shape.

The finished cloth has gentle ridges and points reminiscent of a starfish’s arms, giving it a playful, organic look. Because the construction is modular (each wedge is identical), it’s easy to knit and forgiving — a great project for knitters who enjoy simple stitch work but want a little creative shaping. The end result is a cheerful, handmade cloth that brings a bit of coastal charm to home routines or makes a lovely handmade gift.
