Happy Fried Egg

It is knitted on double pointed needles. It knits up quickly and is a great way to use up small amounts of yarn.

by Twins Knit.

This project knits a small fried‑egg softie: a rounded white “egg white” base topped with a bright “yolk” centre, forming a cute, slightly squishy toy. The white portion is worked in the round, increasing outwards to form a gently domed shape, while the yolk is knitted separately then lightly stuffed and sewn on, giving dimension and a cheerful pop of colour.

Once assembled, you can add playful touches — embroidered eyes, a little smile, perhaps blush or freckles — to turn the egg into a friendly character rather than just an object. It’s compact, quick to knit, and ideal for using up small scraps of yarn: the kind of whimsical, handmade toy that delights both kids and adults alike.
