Work 5 tr into next chain; repeat from * across, ending the final repeat at **.
Work 3 tr into the last chain.
Turn.

Chain 3 (counts as 1 tr), 1 tr into first stitch.
*Work 5 tr into the space at the centre of the next V-st.
Work a V-st into the 3rd treble of the next 5-tr group; repeat from * across, ending last repeat at **.
