What Size Is a Newborn Baby Cardigan?
There isn’t one universal newborn knitting size.
Depending on the designer, a pattern might be labelled newborn, birth, 0–1 month or 0–3 months. Some designers use the baby’s approximate weight or finished chest measurement instead.
A cardigan designed for a 3 kg newborn can therefore be noticeably smaller than one intended to fit throughout the first three months.
If you want the cardigan to fit immediately after birth, check the finished chest measurement rather than relying only on the age given in the pattern.
