Gauge
19 sts and 24 rows = one 8 × 8 cm repeat.
Back
Cast on 120 (139) sts.
Work ribbing, then continue in the main stitch pattern.
After 72 (84) rows = 24 (28) cm from the ribbing, begin the armholes:
Bind off 4 (6) sts at both edges.
Then on every right-side row, bind off 1 st 17 times, following the stitch pattern.
At the same time, with the 12th decrease, bind off the center 50 (65) sts for the neckline.
Finish each side separately.
At the inner edge, bind off:
• 4 sts once
• 3 sts twice
• 2 sts twice
Front
Work the same as the Back.
Sleeves
Cast on 63 sts.
After 20 rows of cuff, switch to the main stitch pattern.
Increase 1 st at both edges on row 3 (5) after the cuff,
then 23 (25) more times every 4th row = 111 (115) sts.
After 96 (108) rows = 32 (36) cm from the cuff:
Bind off 4 (6) sts at both edges.
Then bind off 1 st 17 times every right-side row.
Bind off remaining 69 sts.
Finishing
Pin pieces to measurements, dampen lightly, and let dry.
Sew seams as shown in the schematic.
Set in sleeves.
Yoke
With the circular needle, cast on 126 (133) sts.
Work in the round following Chart A, repeating the chart motif 18 (19) times around.
On round 7, and again 3 more times every 8th round, increase 1 purl st before and after each cable by lifting and twisting the horizontal strand between stitches.
= 270 (285) sts.
After 32 rounds of cable pattern, work 4 rounds purl.
Sew the yoke to the neckline stitch-for-stitch using a grafting-style seam.
