Foundation:
Chain a multiple of 7 + 1. (Example: 43 chains.)

Foundation Row:
Work 2 treble (tr) into the 4th chain from hook.
Miss 3 chains, 1 double crochet (dc) in next chain.
*3 chains, 1 tr in each of the next 3 chains, miss the next 3 chains, dc in next chain; repeat from * across.
Turn.

Row 1:
Chain 3, 2 tr in first stitch.
*Miss next 3 tr, work (1 dc, 3 ch, 3 tr) into the next 3-chain space, miss next stitch; repeat from * across, ending with miss last 2 stitches, dc in the top of the turning chain.
Turn.

Pattern Repeat:
Repeat Row 1 to continue the pattern.
