This knitted mesh market bag is great for the beach or running around town. You can add up to two pockets to the straps for a cell phone or other accessories. There are two different pocket styles – choose one or both! The bottom is a solid seed stitch, so items at the bottom will not poke through. Of course this bag is machine washable because it’s made from cotton material, so no matter what you use it for, you can always pop it in the washing machine for a refresher!

    I knit my bottom first then pick up stitches around then knit the a band of what ever stitch I used on the bottom, knit a band of that stitch for about an inch. Then I start the pattern stitch using only the two rows of Knit and Knit2tog,YO. When I reach the length I want I knit another band to match the bottom I bind off and locate my strap placements and pick up the strap stitches Then I knit them till they are as long as I want them. I made 8 bags like this in 2010 for my daughter to use for Christmas gifts for her co-workers. They had seen one she was using and wanted one like it.
