Gorgeous seahorse knitted toy pattern created by Thora’s Blog.
This seahorse is built in the round from the tip of the tail upward, growing through steady bands of knit, purl, and carefully placed increases that shape its taper, belly curve, and gentle bend. The body builds seamlessly on double-pointed needles, with purl rows marking subtle ridges along the form. A small fin is picked up at the back and fanned out with quick expansions, giving the toy its classic silhouette.
The head is worked separately, rounded through gradual increases and decreases, then stuffed and stitched neatly onto the top of the body. Simple embroidery in black yarn creates soft, expressive eyes. The finished piece has a smooth, sculpted feel, light shaping through the belly, and just enough structure to hold its iconic curl. It’s a compact knit that uses very little yarn, but the shaping makes it feel refined, intentional, and full of character.
