Sizes: To fit 32 (34, 36, 38)”/81 (86, 91, 96)cm bust. Directions are for smallest size with larger sizes in parentheses. If there is only one set of figures it applies to all sizes.

Knitted Measurements:
- Finished bust measurement at underarm 32 (34, 36, 38)”/80 (84, 89, 96)cm.
- Length 14½ (15, 15½, 16)”/36.5 (38, 39.5, 40.5)cm.

Materials:
- 6 (6, 7, 7) 1¾oz/50g balls (each approx 140yd/127m) of Phildar Detente (cotton ) in color #10 white
- One pair size 9 (5½mm) knitting needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GIVEN GAUGE
- Size F (4.00mm) crochet hook
- Three ⅝”/15mm buttons
Gauge:
18 sts and 25 rows to 4″/10cm over St st using 2 strands of yarn and size 9 (5½mm) needles. TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.
NOTE: Use 2 strands of yarn held tog throughout.
FRONT
With 2 strands of yarn, cast on 64 (66, 68, 70) sts. Work in St st K 1 row, P 1 row, inc 1 st each end every 6th row 4 (5, 6, 7) times—72 (76, 80, 84) sts. If necessary, work even. AT SAME TIME when piece measures 6 (6, 6½, 7)”/15 (15, 16.5, 16.5)cm from beg, end with a WS row.
Armhole shaping
Bind off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each end every other row 2 (3, 4, 5) times—62 (66, 70, 76) sts. Work even in St st until armhole measures 5½ (6, 6, 6½)”/14 (15.5, 15.5, 16.5)cm, end with a WS row.
Neck shaping
Next row (RS): Work across first 23 (24, 25, 27) sts, join 2nd ball of yarn and bind off center 16 (18, 20, 22) sts, work to end. Working both sides at same time with sepa-rate balls of yarn, bind off from each neck edge 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st 4 (3, 2, 1) times—11 (13, 15, 18) sts each side. Work even until armhole measures 8½ (9, 9, 9½)”/21.5 (23, 23, 24)cm. Bind off all sts.
RIGHT BACK
With 2 strands of yarn, cast on 34 (35, 36, 38) sts. Work in St st, inc 1 st at beg of ev-ery 6th (RS) row 4 (5, 6, 7) times, and AT SAME TIME, when piece measures 4½ (5, 5½, 6)”/11.5 (13, 14, 15.5)cm from beg, end with a RS row.
Neck shaping
Next row (WS): Cont inc at underarm edge, bind off from neck edge (beg of WS rows) 3 sts once, then 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st 3 times, then dec 1 st every 4th row 5 times and AT SAME TIME when piece measures same length as front to un-derarm, bind off 3 sts from armhole edge twice, then dec 1 st at armhole edge twice—7 (7, 9, 9) sts. Work even until piece measures same length as front. Bind off all sts. Mark position on neck edge for 3 buttons, first marker in 2nd row from beg, last marker 2 rows below first neck dec, oth-er marker spaced evenly between.
LEFT BACK
Work as for right back, reversing all shaping and making buttonholes opposite markers as foll: Buttonhole row 1 (RS) K1, bind off 2 sts, K to end. Buttonhole row 2 Purl, casting on 2 sts over bound off sts.

FINISHING
Block pieces to measurements. Sew shoul-der and side seams.
Armhole edging
With RS facing, crochet hook and 2 strands of yarn, beg at seam at arm, work 1 row of sc evenly around armhole, spacing sts to keep edge flat. Fasten off.
Outside edging
With RS facing, crochet hook and 2 strands of yarn, beg at right back edge, work 1 row of sc along bottom edges, center back edges and neck edges, working 3 sc in each corner and spacing sts to keep edge flat. Sew on buttons.
