Cabobble Mittens

Lovely and warm cabled mittens by Cailyn Meyer from The Daily Skein.

The Cabobble Mittens combine classic cables with soft little bobbles to create a cozy, visually interesting pair. The main body of the mittens is worked in the round from a ribbed cuff upward, with divided stitch counts and shaping that adapt to right and left hands. A central off‑center cable band winds up the back of each mitten, while bobbles add a playful raised texture without overwhelming the design.

Fingertips are shaped with neat decreases for a flat top, and the thumbs are worked in an “afterthought” style — meaning fewer interruptions, smoother lines, and a cleaner finish. The combination of cable, bobble, and streamlined shaping makes these mittens sturdy, warm and slightly luxurious — ideal for showcasing handspun or rich DK yarn.
