Raglan Turtleneck Cabled Sweater – Knit in the Round from the Top Down (No Seams)

The Pink Cloud Sweater ( Raglan Turtleneck Cabled Sweater – Knit in the Round from the Top Down (No Seams) is an ethereal oversized pullover knit seamlessly from the top down with raglan shaping. Worked in a luxurious blend of super kid mohair and silk, it has a light, airy drape yet enough body to hold the structured cables that run along the front and sleeves.

The design features wide ribbed collar and hem bands, subtle reverse-stockinette raglan lines, and intricate cable panels framed by soft purl textures. The sweater is worked entirely in the round without seams — sleeves are picked up from the yoke and shaped with elegant decreases.

It’s a modern, relaxed silhouette with a delicate texture — the kind of piece that feels like wearing a cloud.

Raglan Shaping

Continue in pattern, increasing 1 stitch on each side of every raglan line (8 increases per increase round).
Work these increases every 2nd round using RI before and LI after the raglan panels.

Raglan line pattern (2 sts):

  • In right-side rounds: K2tog tbl (right lean) before the first raglan stitch, SSK (left lean) after the second raglan stitch.
  • In wrong-side rounds: purl all raglan stitches.

Continue until raglan line measures 26 cm from cast-on edge.

Divide for Body and Sleeves

Place sleeve stitches on hold on scrap yarn.
Add 2 extra stitches (from the raglan lines) to both front and back.

Cast on 11 stitches under each arm using the backward loop method for underarm ease.

You now have body stitches joined in the round.

Body

Continue knitting in established pattern (front cables, back stockinette, sides in purl panels) for 35 cm from underarm.

Switch to 3.5 mm needles (80 cm) and work 10 cm of 2×2 ribbing.

Bind off all stitches elastically using a needle or crochet hook.

Sleeves

Transfer sleeve stitches to 5 mm needles.
Pick up the 11 underarm stitches and lift 2 half-stitches from each side of the join to avoid holes — knit them together with the first and last sleeve stitches.

Work in pattern (continuing the 4× Cable 2 motif) for 30 cm, shaping the sleeve by decreasing 1 stitch at each end of every 6th round (knit 2 together at start, ssk at end) until desired taper.

Switch to 3.5 mm needles, work 10 cm of 2×2 ribbing, and bind off elastically.

Finishing

  • Weave in all ends neatly.
  • Wash gently by hand or use a wool wash.
  • Block flat in shape, smoothing cables and neckline.
  • Dry horizontally.

💡 Notes

  • This pattern yields a soft, draping oversized fit.
  • For a smaller size, reduce the number of stitches at cast-on (in multiples of 8 to maintain rib and cable alignment).
  • For a longer body, knit additional rows before beginning the ribbing section.
