St. John’s Wort is a gorgeous traditional lace knitting stitch that is easy and fun to knit up, perfect for shawls and other lacy items!
k = knit
p = purl
sl = slip a stitch without working it from the left needle to the right one
psso = pass the slipped stitch over
yo = yarn over
Multiples of 6 plus 2
Row 1: k1 * ( Sl 1, k2, psso), k3, * k1
Row 2: p1 * p4, yo, p1, * p1
Row 3: k1 * k3, ( Sl 1, k2, psso), * k1
Row 4: p1 * p1, yo, p4, * p1
4 rows make up pattern.
Note: The yo occurs on the even rows falling between the k2 stitches over which the slipped stitch has been passed in the row previous.
This is absolutely beautifull! Will definitely try this.
