p = purl
st = stitch
wyab = with yarn at back

Free Knitting Stitch – Quilted Stitch

Cast on Multiples of 4 sts plus 1.

Row 1 (wrong side)
: k1, *p1, k1* to end.

Row 2: P1, * slip 1 knitwise wyab, k in front and back of next st, k1, pass slipped st over last 3 sts, p1; repeat from * to end.

Row 3: k1, *p1, k1* to end.

Row 4: P1, k1, p1, * slip 1 knitwise wyab, k in front and back of next st, k1, pass slipped st over last 3 sts, p1; repeat from * to last 2 sts, k1, p1.

Repeat 1st to 4th rows for pattern.
