Classic Lines Cardigan

This cardigan is knit in lace yarn held double, creating a lightweight garment that’s perfect for chilly spring evenings or overly-enthusiastic office air conditioning. The stripes are created by adding a strand of variegated lace yarn to the mix every 6 rounds; the loose fabric allows this triple-stranding without changing the gauge and creates a subtle “scribbled” effect like a soft lead pencil drawing on creamy paper. Since this cardigan is knit in the round and steeked, you can carry the accent color up the steek in order to reduce the number of ends to weave in at the end. Folded sewn hems on the lower edge, collar, and front bands finish things off with a clean, modern look.
